May 06, 2010: Virgin Mobile India today further enhanced its presence with the launch of its GSM services in 6 circles; post the successful launch in 5 southern circle, Orissa, Mumbai and Maharashtra circles. With the rollout of its GSM services in 14 circles, India’s only national youth focused brand, Virgin Mobile, is all set to help youth leverage and use the power of their network of friends. Loaded with a plethora of unique products and services designed for youth, the company is launching its GSM services in Uttar Pradesh (E), Uttar Pradesh (W), Madhya Pradesh & Chattisgarh, Haryana, Kolkata and Bihar additionally.

For now, consumers across all the GSM circles will be offered a differentiated tariff proposition of 20p/min for STD and local calls to any Virgin Mobile number without any pack and no daily rental. Virgin Mobile customers calling any other network will be charged 50p/min for local and STD calls again without any pack and daily rental.

Ranbir Kapoor and Genelia D’Souza have been appointed as brand ambassadors for Virgin Mobile in India.

At the time of launch, Virgin Mobile GSM services will be available in all the top urban towns through more than 130,255 RCV and 90,228 SUK outlets across all the 14 circles.

Get Paid for Incoming Calls: an industry defining tariff offer which credits customers with 10 paise for every minute of incoming call they receive from any network.

Virgin Mobile with its foray into the GSM segment has announced various service offerings for the youth of India, clearly looking forward to garner a significant market share. This includes the innovative VAS offerings like ‘Friend circle’, vBelong’, ‘vGenie’, ‘WOW’ ‘vJingle’ and many more to follow with music, infotainment and social networking as the key areas of focus. Virgin mobile is also the first mobile service brand to offer its users a full bill guarantee on prepaid. In case the billing complaints of users are not addressed within 48 hours, bill shall be paid for by Virgin Mobile. Virgin Mobile consumers will also get to choose numbers that fit their attitude even in prepaid. Apart from this, Virgin Mobile will be offering all its prepaid customers an itemised bill without any extra cost which they can access on the Virgin Mobile website. A unique brand ambassador initiative in colleges called ‘vTurks’ has been rolled out with the aim to create Virgin Mobile champions to tap into specific communities. Virgin Mobile has also announced the introduction of its successful GPIC (Get Paid for Incoming Calls) scheme on GSM, whereby Virgin Mobile customers will get 10 paise credit for every minute of in-coming call they receive from any network.

At the time of the launch, Virgin mobile is offering three special FRCs at Rs. 79, Rs. 52 and Rs. 51. FRC 79 offers Rs. 5 talk time along with the combination of three exciting offers of GPIC (get paid for incoming calls), unlimited free SMS & STD proposition of 20p/min to any Virgin mobile number without any pack & daily rental. FRC 52 offers Rs. 5 talk time along with the simple tariff of STD at just 20p/min without any pack and free on net SMS without any daily rental. On both the FRCs; Virgin mobile customers calling any other network will be charged at 50p/min. FRC 51 offers three benefits- per second tariff, GPIC (get paid for incoming calls) along with the Rs. 5 talk time.
