Reliance Mobile introduces Braille Bill Service for visually impaired
* First-of-its-kind Customer Service initiative by Indian telecom operator
* Part of overall business plan to drive customer-centric innovations
August 6, 2010: August 16, 2010: As part of its strategy to drive leadership through innovations across its
Wireless business, Reliance Mobile has announced the launch of Braille Bill service. The Braille Bill service is part of multiple innovative & reliable convenience options that Reliance Mobile is
introducing in the Indian market for its over 110 million mobile subscribers.
The Braille Bill service is first-of-its kind initiative introduced by an Indian telecom operator
aiming to create an enabling and convenient customer service environment for the visually
impaired. The service is in line with Reliance ADA Group’s Corporate Social responsibility
objectives. |

Commenting on the launch of its Braille Bill Service, Mr Anurag Prashar, President
Corporate, Customer Service, Reliance Communications said, “After being the first in the
industry to launch Live Chat service, we have brought yet another innovation to Indian Telecom
customers by the launch of Braille Bill for those who are visually impaired. There are currently
45 million people suffering from complete visual impairment across the globe. Out of these,
nearly 12 million reside in India. Our new Braille Bill service is in line with our Customer Service
objective to delight our customers through innovations that touch their lives. And the best thing
is that this service is free of cost.”
Reliance Mobile’s Braille Bills will be available for Postpaid customers across all products lines
of RCOM’s Wireless Business. This will be a summarized bill providing key details of current
usage, bill amount, last dues, last payment and adjustments made. The Braille Bill will also
provide a breakup of the current charges payable by the customer. The normal detailed and
itemised bills will also be available through regular channels in the form of hard copy as well as
eBills. The Braille Bill will be dispatched to the visually impaired customers through post every
month without any extra charges.
Existing and new Reliance Mobile customers can request for the Braille Bill by registering their
request with the company through its call center or customer touch-points including over 2500
Reliance World and Reliance Mobile Stores across 700 cities in India. |
