~ Lafarge to construct square at Mulmula Chowk
Mumbai, November, 2011: As part of its CSR activities Lafarge India’s Arasmeta Cement Plant has undertaken the task of building a square at the local Mulmula – Janjgir Chowk. Construction of the square has been the wish of the local people long and they also requested for the same before the District Administration. To fulfil this long standing wish of the people, Lafarge has declared to take charge of this project.
The square will be dedicated to three freedom fighters and renowned social activists of the area Shri Pachkod Prasad Pandey, Shri Bhan Singh, and Shri Sukhsagar Singh. Statues of these leaders will be placed in the square.

The Bhoomi Pujan ceremony for the proposed square was completed in the presence of Shri Brijesh Mishra, Hon’ble Collector Janjgir Champa who presided over the function as the Chief Guest. Among the other dignitaries present were K L Chauhan CEO of Zila Panchayat, Sanjay Joshi VP Arasmeta Cement Plant, Ramesh Pathak AVP ACP and Kiran Sharma AGM HR ACP. Freedom fighters of the area, Panchayat Members and members of the local community were also present in large numbers.
Senior citizens of the area recalled the memories and accolades of Shri Pachkod Prasad Pandey, Shri Bhan Singh and Shri Sukhsagar Singh and their role in the freedom movement of country and mentioned their contributions for the upliftment of local area.
In his address, Shri Brijesh Mishra Hon’ble Collector of Jangjir Champa praised the initiatives undertaken by Lafarge and called upon the locals to work for the prosperity of village and its rich culture through better sense of ownership. Kiran Sharma, AGM-HR ACP invited the local public for their wholehearted support to make this project a success and reminded all to carry out their job with complete safety.
On this occasion felicitated the Senior citizens and freedom fighters of the area were felicitated. Being Mitanin Day, the Mitanins of the area were also honoured during the program. On this occasion, Shri K L Chauhan, CEO Zila Panchayat declared that by the end of this year it is expected that Mulmula shall attain the status of “Purna Nirmal Gram”.
