The 12th Amusement Expo is expected to give momentum to the amusements parks industry which is currently growing at 15-20%. The Expo will witness presence of around hundreds companies from across various countries like Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Canada, China, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Singapore, Spain, , The Netherlands, Thailand, UAE, UK and USA.
The amusement and leisure Industry in India organises this Expo to discuss several critical issues related to the Amusement Industry which include high, multiple and differential taxation issues at state and federal level, funding problems and land requirements etc.
The visitor profile includes Park operators, FEC Operators, Resort Owners, Hoteliers, Mall Developers, Builders & Developers, Engineering Firms, Architects, Consultants, Media, Retailers, Real Estate Developers, Government officials & allied industry professionals.
While the international participation sees an increase, the domestic ride manufactures will also attract lot of attention at the Expo. Indian ride manufactures are showcasing their expertise in the manufacture of international standard rides with exports growing year on year.
THER HIGHLIGHTS OF THE EXPO:
The inaugural function is scheduled on 1st March 2012 at 11.00 am at Hall 5, Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon East, Mumbai. It will be followed by inauguration of Exhibitor Directory 2012, Thriller Trade Show Special Issue & Ribbon Cutting.
NATIONAL AWARDS FOR EXCELLENCE:
IAAPI members are also awaiting its ‘National Awards for Excellence’ function organized on the 1st March, 2012 at Hotel ITC Maratha, Mumbai. IAAPI acknowledges new endeavors undertaken within the amusement & entertainment industry by distributing awards in various categories.
Since the formation of the Indian Association of Amusement Parks and Industries (IAAPI) in 1999 with its headquarter in Mumbai representing operators, manufacturers, importers, traders, suppliers, distributors and other related industrialists from the amusement, leisure and entertainment industry in India, it has been steadfast to promote, protect and safeguard the interests of the industry. IAAPI influences the decision of the policy makers, which would lead to the growth of the sector. It currently has 200+ members.
One of the initiatives of the IAAPI, was compilation of a “Study of the Amusement Park Industry in India” done by the world renowned – Ernst & Young. The report gave a comprehensive insight into the industry in India- its future growth prospects, which augurs well for the industry.
The industry is growing and is focused to achieve a higher growth rate in the years to come.
