easyday Stores Help Communities Live Better

Raipur, 27 April, 2011: easyday stores, owned and operated by Bharti Retail Ltd, organized a series of blood donation
and health awareness camps in 8 major states of India - Punjab, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Rajasthan,
Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. In a showcase of civil society coming forward for the cause of saving human lives,
employees and customers of easyday stores donated 1119 units of blood within a month. The blood donation camps
were organised as part of the easyday and easyday Market stores’ ‘store of the community’ initiative and were held in
23 cities across India.

More than 1000 easyday employees and customers came together to donate blood, from 9 easyday Market and 47
easyday stores, for people in need of blood. The blood donation camps aligned with the company’s overarching goal of
serving its customers beyond the easyday stores and work for the community.
Commenting on the initiative Mr. Andrew Levermore, Chief Operating Officer, Bharti Retail said, “We are committed to
positively impacting communities where we are present. In Q1, 2011, our customers and easyday store associates came
together and helped people across India live better by donating 1119 units of blood and providing 100 people free eye
check-ups. We will continue to support our customers and communities through service inside our stores and outside
them.”
The details of the blood donations camps are as follows:
* 577 units of blood donated in Punjab in association with United India Welfare Society
* 140 units of blood donated in Gurgaon and Sonipat, Haryana in association with Indian Red Cross society
* 41 units of blood donated in Delhi in partnership with Lions Blood Bank, Delhi
* 82 units of blood donated in Ghaziabad, Agra and Meerut, Uttar Pradesh in partnership with Pushpanjali
Crosslay Hospital, Ghaziabad, Sarojini Naidu Medical College, Agra and Anand Hospital, Meerut
* 72 units of blood donated in Raipur, Chhattisgarh in partnership with Indian Red Cross Society
* 59 units of blood donated in Gwalior and Indore, Madhya Pradesh in association with Indian Red Cross society
* 137 units of blood donated in Alwar, Rajasthan in partnership with Seth Makhanlal Mahawar Charitable Blood
Bank Society
* 11 units of blood donated in Mysore, Karnataka
In addition to blood donation camps, easyday stores in Sonipat organised a free health check-up camp for customers in
association with Dr. Naresh Batra from Civil Hospital, Sonipat in which more than 100 customers availed the check-up.
